Keep your .ots proofs. Certify the file in docstoc for people who will not run ots-client.
Why there’s no “Connect your account” button
File certificates are hashes of bytes, not e-sign envelopes. We do not connect to Adobe or DocuSign accounts. Export the original file you need to prove, then certify it here.
Exporting from OpenTimestamps
- 1Keep the original file and any .ots proof you already have.
- 2Certify the same file in docstoc for a public link.
- 3Do not delete your OTS proofs if they matter legally to you.
Once you have the files
Drop the file in the hash checker or create a certificate in the app. Share the verification link. Optional Bitcoin timestamping is available on accounts that enable it.
Just doing this once?
Hash in the browser — the file does not need to leave your machine for a client-side check.
Making it the new default?
Issue a full certificate when you want a durable public verify page.

Keep the original file. The certificate proves that this exact file still matches — it is not a qualified electronic signature.
